Application and Admittance Overview
You will begin your GoTeach11 journey by creating an account through the GoTeach11 application system - HERE.
After your application has been submitted and references and transcripts have been received, we will begin to evaluate your application. Once the evaluation is complete (within 24 hours of our receiving the final document), you will receive an offer letter or a denial letter.
Immediately upon admittance, you will receive access to the Field-Based Experience observation material.
Orientations are held from 5:30-7:30 on the first Tuesday of each month. Once you have attended the Orientation, you will have access to the online coursework, which is the beginning of Phase 1.
We accept applications year-round. For deadlines and start dates for each monthly cohort, click HERE.

Stop Two: Phase 1
-
Overview of Phase 1
Upon accepting our offer of admittance, you will receive access to the online coursework. Through Phase 1, you will complete approximately 200 hours of online coursework, which includes your TExES exam preparation work.
Phase 1 also consists of four live teaching labs and one lesson presentation. The candidate may choose to complete these sessions virtually or in person at the ESC Region 11 building.
-
Live Sessions
Orientation, Teaching Labs, and the Lesson Presentation are the sessions that take place live (via Zoom). The session dates and times can be found HERE.
Stop Three: Phase 2
-
Overview of Phase 2
After completion of Phase 1, you have two options for continuing in the GoTeach11 Program: 1) paid Internship or 2) unpaid Clinical Teaching.
With either of the options, you will continue to receive training and support from the GoTeach11 staff. Your support system with both options includes your GoTeach11 specialist, a field supervisor, a campus mentor, and your campus principal. All are there to help you have a successful clinical teaching experience or first year of teaching.
-
Internship
If you choose the paid Internship route, you apply for, interview for, and accept a position with a school district or charter. The internship lasts a full school year. If you are hired after the first day of school, your internship will be a minimum of 180 days. For the internship, you will be on either an Intern certificate or a Probationary certificate.
*While we do not guarantee a position in a district, we do everything we can to help you secure a teaching position. Many districts rely on us to provide them with the names of eligible interns when they have openings that they cannot fill.
-
Clinical Teaching
If you choose the Clinical Teaching route, the GoTeach11 staff places you in a district (you give your top choices of districts) with a teacher who will work with you. The goal of this experience is to observe the teacher for an amount of time and then to begin teaching the classes by the end of the experience. Clinical teaching lasts a minimum of 70 days.
Stop Four: Standard Certification
-
Final Step
After completion of either the internship or the clinical teaching experience, you will apply for your Standard certificate, which will then be recommended by the GoTeach11 program staff.
*Standard Certificates will not be recommended until all coursework, training sessions, and payments are complete.
-
Applying for Standard Certificate
When you are ready to apply for your Standard Certificate, you will return to your TEAL account that you created during Phase 1 here. You will receive detailed instructions on how to apply for your certificate during Phase 2 of the program.
